New B of A Tool Lets Borrowers Track Loan Status Online

Bank of America's newest service allows consumers to track their loan status online.

Called Home Loan Navigator, the new online service can be accessed through the Bank of America Online Banking home page, the Charlotte, N.C.-based company said in a news release Monday. The service is available to consumers who apply for a mortgage or want to refinance with the bank; existing Bank of America borrowers will have immediate access.

Through Home Loan Navigator, consumers can view the current status and detail of a loan application and a "to do" list with outstanding tasks. Consumers can also use the portal to receive disclosures and other documents electronically and e-sign some loan documents.

The service will also allow consumers to communicate with Bank of America's lending team through a secure messaging program.

"Staying connected with our clients and helping them through their mortgage experience — either online, in-person or over the phone — is critical to a smooth process and satisfied clients," said D. Steve Boland, consumer lending executive for Bank of America, in the release.
